Patrick Collins is one of seven Darlington players with a year left on their contracts but, given the major changes promised by manager Dave Penney, the defender does not know if he will be with Quakers next season.
The tall central defender and Julian Joachim were the only players contracted for a further year to start Saturday's game.
Penney last week told six of his squad they are no longer needed, and the remaining players he wants out of the club will be told tomorrow.
Collins, not always a first-choice under Penney, admits he could be one of those leaving, but he does not want to go.
He said: "I would like to be around next season but I don't know what the manager is going to say on Tuesday. He could say wants to get rid of me, he could say he wants me to say.
"Obviously I want to be playing first team football but there is nothing I can do now."
Saturday's heavy defeat was the second time Stockport have put five goals past Darlington this season and Collins admits the loss dented Quakers' professional pride.
Quakers played most of the game with ten men after the first half dismissal of Evan Horwood and Collins added: "We were too sloppy, even with ten men. I don't know if we should have changed the formation or what but we were just too ragged.
"It's disappointing because that's twice Stockport have turned us over and I really wanted to get revenge on them.
"It hurts your pride. That's what I was shouting to the players - 'let's play for pride'.
You don't want to be losing like that, especially in the last game of the season because it leaves a really sour note."
Long-serving winger Neil Wainwright was a three-time winner at the Darlington Supporters' Club annual awards night on Saturday.
He collected the overall Player of the Year accolade and the same honour from the Darlo Uncovered website, while Wainwright also took the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Darlington FC.
Since originally signing on loan in 2000 before joining permanently in 2001, Wainwright has played in 263 games for the club, which puts him 15th in the club's all-time leading appearance records.
Patrick Collins was named the Away Player of the Year (as voted for by fans on Supporters' Club trips) while Shaun Reay was named Young Player of the Year.
Both Goal of the Season honours went to Martin Smith. Supporters voted for his volley from an angle at Lewes in the FA Cup last November, while the players chose his long-range strike at home to Mansfield Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Glen and Mary Bowes received a special award from the Supporters' Club committee for their work over many years in organising travel for fans to away games.
