DOGS Trust Darlington is decking the halls in preparation for its annual Christmas Fair this weekend (December 6 and 7).
Taking place at the rehoming centre from noon to 4pm on both days, the festive event will include a doggy tombola and stalls selling treats, Christmas cards and gifts galore.
Santa Paws will be in his grotto and there will be plenty of stocking fillers onsale, including Dogs Trust merchandise and a festive ‘barkery’ full of treats.
Visitors can also take part in a raffle with some major prizes to be won, including a plasma TV.
The winning ticket will be drawn on Sunday at 3.45pm.
Sue Embleton, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Darlington, said: “If you’re dotty about dogs and want to help make this year’s Christmas Fair the best yet, please help support us by donating prizes for the tombola no later than Friday December 5.
“With all proceeds of items sold going towards the care of our dogs at the centre whilst they await new homes, it’s a wonderful way to raise pounds for hounds and give something back this Christmas.”
A silent auction is also taking place with starting bids of £50 for a Newcastle United football shirt signed by this season’s first team players.
Bids can be placed at the centre or the fair, or an offer made to rebecca.mckeown@dogstrust.org.uk.
The highest bidder will be announced on December 19.
The Christmas Fair will be held at Dogs Trust Darlington, Hill House Farm, Sadberge.
