AN annual Christmas fair saw success at the weekend, and some very special guests even showed up for the occasion.
Heighington Village Hall played host to more than 100 visitors for the event last Saturday, with all proceeds going to the St Michael’s church fund.
The mayor and mayoress of Darlington, Cllr Gerald Lee and Ruth Lee, opened the fair, which is held every year.
There were craft stalls, children’s games and a raffle, among other activities.
Father Christmas also made an appearance, much to the delight of some of the younger visitors.
The fair ran from 10am until 2pm and was organised by the working party from St Michael’s Church. It runs every year on the final Saturday in November.
Anne Dobson, the chairwoman of the working party, said: “A lot of work goes into these things, and I and the Reverend Lissa Gibbons would like to thank members of the community for their continued support.”
