Darlington saw their winning run in the league come to an end thanks to an injury-time goal by Sefton Gonzales for mid-table Clitheroe.
Terry Galbraith had given Quakers the lead just after the hour with a header after meeting an Adam Mitchell cross, and Clitheroe ended the game with ten men due to Daniel Wilkins' red card.
But in the 91st minute Gonzales made the most of slack defending to tap home at close range.
