ANauthor who has written for one of the most popular children's television shows visited a Darlington library to talk to school pupils.
Barry Hutchinson gave a talk to year six students from Corporation Road School at Crown Street Library as part of the Northern Children's Book Festival.
Mr Hutchinson has written a number of books for children and is also a screenwriter, including contributing to the Ben 10 cartoon.
A library spokeswoman said Mr Hutchinson gave a funny and informative talk to the children about why he likes writing scary and frightening stories and how he came up with the spooky characters for his books.
He also answered questions from the children and signed some of his books from the Invisible Fiends series.
A number of Mr Hutchinson's books are available to borrow from Crown Street Library.
