POLICE are trying to track down a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of three bikes worth £6,000.
Darlington police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to following the theft which took place on Wednesday, October 1 at Faverdale Industrial Estate, in Darlington.
The bikes – a grey and black GT Aggressor mountain bike and a yellow and grey Giant road bike with tri bars - were parked outside cycle parts business Zyro when they were stolen.
A white, black and red Giant road bike worth £4,500 with a ‘Team gorgeous weekend velo club’ sticker on the handlebar stem and Danny Hart logo on the frame was also taken.
The man, who is white, around 6 ft tall and of medium build, was seen wearing a high visibility vest on the day of the theft.
He was driving a white Transit type van and a young boy, aged around eight to ten-years-old, was travelling with him.
He was also seen driving a maroon Rover 25 type car around the industrial estate on the day before the theft.
Anybody with any information can call Darlington police on 101 and ask for DC John Tyers, quoting crime reference number DJ406020.
