A NEW inclusive sports club has launched in Darlington to give people the chance to try a host of sports regardless of their physical, learning or sensory ability.
OnSide is run by Tees Valley YMCA and takes places every Thursday in the sports hall at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington, from 4pm to 6pm. Sessions cost £2.50.
The club is open to people aged 14 to 30 and offers a variety of sports and games, including goalball, athletics, cricket, basketball, volleyball, boccia, golf and new age curling.
A Tees Valley YMCA spokesperson said: “Tees Valley YMCA has been established since 1993, and has built an excellent reputation, working with young people living across some of the most deprived wards in Tees Valley.
“The OnSide Project supports young people and adults with a disability to participate in activities that will improve their own health and wellbeing.
“Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need any adjustments or have any questions, so we can ensure you can participate in the club activities.”
Volunteering opportunities are also available and training will be provided.
For more information email team leader Laura Bush on lbush@ymcateesvalley.org.uk or meet OnSide sports coordinator Phil Hay at the Dolphin Centre on the night.
