GOLFERS will take to the fairways in a charity championship at Rockliffe Hall this summer.
The event, in aid of the Look A Head (correct) Cancer campaign, will feature a speech from former footballer and throat cancer survivor Gordon McQueen.
The charity, which covers Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire, aims to raise awareness of head and neck cancer.
Ear, nose and throat consultant Anirvan Banerjee said: “We wanted to do something to help Look a Head continue the important work they do in improving awareness of head and neck cancer with the public and health professionals.
“There is a high incidence of this type of cancer in the North-East and we wanted to do something that would benefit local people. We hope people will swing into action and help us make the event a success.”
The event will be held on Wednesday, August 27.
