A jazz band will perform at the Middleton Hall Retirement Village, in Middleton St George on Saturday, March 1, to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. Sharp Intake, a Leeds-based seven piece who perform traditional songs as well as modern numbers will perform from 6pm. For ticket information contact Middleton Hall on 01325-331444.
CAR DAMAGED: A blue Peugeot 206 was badly damaged by someone who left several deep scratches in the paintwork some time between noon and 5pm on February 17 when it was parked near the Motor Paint Garage, in Valley Street, Darlington. It is thought the damage will cost £500 to repair. Anyone with information is asked to contact Darlington Police on 101, quoting log number 0322 of February 17.
BOOK SIGNING: Author Ian Johnson will be signing copies of his debut novel The Witcher Keys, at WH Smiths in the Cornmill Centre, in Darlington, on Saturday, March 1, at noon. Copies of the book can be bought on the day. Anyone bring a book they already own will be asked to present copies of the receipt before it is signed.
PACT MEETING: A joint police and communities together meeting for the Haughton north, east and west wards will take place at Education Village, in Salter’s Lane, between 6pm and 7pm on Wednesday, February 26.
CHORAL SOCIETY: Darlington Choral Society, which performs modern and traditional choral music, will meet at St Cuthbert’s Church, on Wednesday, February 26, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. A small fee is made to take part. Call 01325-381250 for details.
