PLANS have been made to improve signage on a narrow country road where HGVs keep getting stuck.
The road between Bishopton and Whitton, between Darlington and Stockton, has suffered serious damage in recent months as lorry drivers attempt to reverse after becoming stuck in the narrow verges.
Councillor Brian Jones told a meeting of Sadberge Parish Council that highways officers at Darlington Borough Council and Stockton Borough Council are working together to improve and enlarge warning signs in the area.
It is also thought that an error on satellite navigation systems is causing drivers to think the road is suitable for large vehicles, which officers are trying to get amended.
