THE following cases were heard at Darlington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (February 4). All addresses are Darlington:
DRINK DRIVING: Michael Smith, 20, of Eggleston View, was banned from driving for 18 months after admitting drink driving. He was stopped by police while driving with 63 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. He was also fined £175, with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. The ban will be reduced by four months if he successfully completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course by next January.
DRUGS CHARGE: Derek Mafham, 30, of Geneva Road, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place and possession of cocaine. He was arrested in Grainger Street, on January 19, after swearing at police who had found him leaning against a wall. He was fined a total of £400, with £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
WARRANT ISSUED: A warrant was issued for the arrest of 22-year-old David Webster, of Hopetown Lane, after he failed to appear on drink-drive charges.
WUFF JUSTICE: Barry Hutchinson, 45, of Waverley Terrace, admitted stealing dog bedding which had been left as a donation outside the Dogs Trust charity shop, in Skinnergate. He also admitted possession of a small amount of amphetamine. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
