A 25-YEAR OLD man appeared in court yesterday charged with nine counts of committing or attempting to commit commercial burglary.

David Errington pleaded not guilty to all of the offences, eight of which are said to have taken place on the same day.

Mr Errington is accused of stealing a £1,500 computer from Darlington Memorial Hospital, on May 15.

On June 6, he is accused of taking £8 in cash from UK Insurance Net, a projector, speakers and stationary worth £1,655 from Sanders Swinbank, £5 in cash and stationary from Lyons Bookshop and £210 from P and A Catering.

On the same day he is alleged to have entered the premises of the North-East Council on Addictions, Local Motion and Blackett Hart and Pratt, with the intention to steal. All of the premises were in Darlington.

Mr Errington, of Invernary Road, Darlington, appeared by video link before South Durham magistrates sitting at Newton Aycliffe.

His case was adjourned until January 24 for a pre-trial review.
