ELDERLY people from across Darlington enjoyed an early festive treat thanks to pupils at one of the town's schools.
Students at Longfield School spread Christmas cheer by serving a traditional lunch followed by party games.
The school choir sang carols and other songs at the celebration. About 300 pensioners, who each received a hamper filled with produce and gifts from pupils, from across the town were at the event. Headteacher Keith Cotgrave said: "Our pupils have been very enthusiastic in helping to get this event together."
