David Peter Foster, 19, of The Byway, Darlington, appeared in court charged with two burglaries, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without a licence and driving without insurance. No plea was taken and his case was adjourned until January 16. The first burglary was £700 from Ken Warne greengrocer, in Cleveland Terrace, on October 10. The second charge was theft from a charity box at Hurworth Fisheries the following day.
