CHRISTMAS parcels worth more than £2,000 have been delivered to people in Darlington this week.
The Darlington Lions Club delivered 150 parcels around the town to the disadvantaged, disabled, and those who live on their own.
The parcels contained Christmas puddings and cakes, mince pies, biscuits, tea, tinned steak, soup, fruit cocktail, and chocolate.
Money was raised by collections in Darlington's Morrisons, Asda, Sainsbury's, and Somerfield stores.
The parcels cost £2,252, with money left over passed on to local charities.
