SCHOOL students have joined forces with a charity to help victims of disaster areas.
Parkside School, in Willington, has filled Shelter Boxes on behalf of the Rotary Club of Crook.
The boxes, which are sent out to those who need them across the world, were filled with candles, matches, clothing, cutlery and other emergency supplies.
They will be stored in depots throughout the country by the Rotary club until disaster strikes, when they can be supplied immediately.
Ken Davison, from the Rotary club, said: "Rotary clubs specialise in helping those all over the world who need assistance in a hurry, but to do this they need help from the community."
Any other groups which are keen to help in this way can contact Steve Murphy on 01388-766719.
