THE Church of St James the Great, in Albert Hill, Darlington, has announced its Christmas services.
On Christmas Eve, there will be a Solemn Mass at 10am. The mass setting is Mass in F by Harold Darke, and the preacher is Father Gareth Jones. At 11.30pm, there will be Midnight Mass and the Blessing of the Crib. The mass setting is Mass in G by Franz Schubert, and the preacher is Father John Payne.
On Christmas Day, there will be a Mass of the Dawn at 9am, followed by a Solemn Mass of the Day at 10am. The mass setting is Little Organ Mass by Haydn, and the preacher is Father Ian Grieves. On Friday, December 29, there will be a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at 7.30pm, followed by wine and savouries in the church hall.
