DOZENS of residents from one of Darlington's newest communities enjoyed a festival organised to encourage residents to get involved with their local park.
About 50 residents from the West Park estate attended the first winter festival in West Park.
Children from neighbouring Alderman Leach Primary School sang Christmas carols.
Visitors also took part in craft making and a treasure trail.
The event was held to mark the establishment of the Friends of West Park, an organisation for people who are interested in helping to look after the park and the community.
It is hoped that the festival, which was organised by Darlington Borough Council's countryside events team, will become and annual event.
Sally Taylor, of the countryside events team, said: "It went really well and it was nice weather. I think everyone enjoyed themselves."
