A DARLINGTON man has admitted a string of theft and fraud offences worth thousands of pounds.

Raymond Scott, 20, appeared before the town’s magistrates’ court on Tuesday (June 4).

He admitted nine charges of fraud by false representation and another five of theft.

The frauds include trying to sell stolen jewellery at pawnbrokers around Darlington.

Scott also stole lead flashing worth thousands of pounds from building sites, said prosecutor Lynne Dalton.

Sentencing was adjourned until June 27, to allow a Probation Service report to be prepared.

Scott, of Bowen Road, Darlington, was released on bail, on condition that he remains indoors between 7pm and 7am.
