A HEARING to decide whether a pub landlord should have his license reviewed has been adjourned.
Darlington Police asked the borough council to review the license of Robert Wilson of the Slaters Arms, on Bondgate, over concerns about several alleged fights inside the pub and violent incidents that had spilled out onto the street.
The council’s licensing sub committee met this morning (Thursday, May 30) but Mr Wilson’s representative requested an adjournment as his elected solicitor was unable to attend the hearing.
Darlington Police said they were satisfied that the number of reported incidents at the pub had reduced over the last two months so there was not an immediate public safety issue in granting an adjournment.
The sub committee is now due to meet on June 18 to consider the case.
