THIS summer's annual Darlington 10km race is set be a real family affair as father, son and daughter line up to take on the challenge.
Peter, Mark and Kelly Smith will take part in the race on August 11.
Having pulled out of last year’s event due to injury, Miss Smith, who is an assistant catering manager at The Dolphin Centre, will join her father and brother on the start line.
A family of keen runners, the Smiths are proud to support this year’s charities, which were chosen by Darlington Rotary Club, in partnership with Darlington Borough Council.
The Darlington and District Multiple Sclerosis Society and St Teresa’s Hospice are this year’s nominated charities, and will receive all proceeds raised.
The race will be sponsored by Sherwoods group for an 11th year running, with support from other organisations including The Northern Echo and Teesside University also.
The fun run begins at 9am, with the race proper starting at 10am.
