A TEMPORARY loss of temper ended up costing a Darlington man more than £600 in court.

Simon Spears, 32, of Derwent Street, Darlington, appeared before the town’s Magistrates' Court to admit to kicking his neighbour’s door in anger after they had had an argument.

The kick caused £550 of damage and Spears pleaded guilty to criminal damage in court.

Magistrates imposed an 18-month conditional discharge and fined him £550 in compensation, plus £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

  • A DRIVER caught without insurance and with two illegal tyres on his car has been fined in court.

Kevin Nunn, 48, of Thorntree Gardens, Middleton St George, pleaded guilty via a letter to Darlington Magistrates’ Court to driving without insurance and having two of his car tyres below the legal tread depth.

The court heard that the offences were uncovered when Nunn was pulled over by officers on Yarm Road on April 3.

He was fined £400 and had six points added to his licence.

  • A JAGUAR driver who was uninsured and driving without a valid licence for the car has been fined more than £100.

John Bryce, 61, of Station Road, Darlington, was caught driving the Jaguar S Type by officers on China Street off North Road on April 4.

He pleaded guilty via a letter to Darlington Magistrates’ Court to driving without insurance and without the correct licence and was fined a total of £165.

Six points were also added to his licence.
