POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a set of golf clubs from a car in Darlington.

The theft, from a black Nissan Qashqai, took place overnight on Monday (May 20), into the morning of Tuesday from a driveway in the Harrowgate Farm area of the town.

Various golf-related items were stolen from the boot including, a blue and black Wilson golf bag, containing at least ten irons, 1 wedge, a sand wedge, lob-wedge, fairway recovery wood, putter and numerous golf balls, tees, and markers.

Also stolen were a pair of white leather golf gloves and a pair of white Adidas golf shoes as well as the service record for the vehicle.

PC Alistair Rogowski from Darlington police, said: "I would encourage anyone who has information about the theft or the stolen property to get in touch with the police immediately and I would remind the public to ensure their outbuildings and vehicles are locked and any valuables are secured elsewhere to reduce the opportunity for thieves to take them."
