MEMBERS of Darlington Rotary Club have completed a 200-mile cycle in aid of local charities.
Fourteen club members rode between Edinburgh and Newcastle, over the weekend, finishing on Monday (May 20) afternoon.
The team aimed to ride 50 miles each day, making stops at Innerleithen, Berwick, Alnmouth and Newcastle. Nigel Little, one of the Rotarians taking part in the challenge, said it had gone very well.
He said: “I’ve done this ride before and last year a team of four from the Rotary Club took part in a cycle trip to Darlington’s twin town of Mulheim.
“This year we were able to encourage a few more to join us and ride for charity.”
The group has received pledges of more than £5,000 from supporters and hope to raise more. To donate, visit virginmoneygiving.com/team/darlingtonrotary2
