A MUSICAL extravaganza is taking place at The King’s Centre on Whessoe Road, Darlington, to raise money for human trafficking charity Hope for Justice.
Music will include folk, R&B and Celtic, plus busker Jeff Butterfield who busked and hitched his way to a music festival in Orkney last summer to raise money for charity.
The concert takes place on May 31, from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 including pie and peas supper, available from 01325-469884.
FOOTBALLERS: A reunion is being held for past members of the Albert Hill Junior football club in Darlington on June 5.
The event is for members of the team in the seasons from 1963 to 1965 and will take place at Frankie’s pub on the corner of Duke Street from 7.30pm.
All players of the junior league from that time are also welcome to attend.
NORDIC: Darlington Council is encouraging residents to have a go at Nordic walking.
It involves walking with poles, similar to ski poles, which give the upper body a workout and also propel the walker along.
Hour-long sessions, costing £2.50, run from the clock tower at South Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10am and on Saturdays from 9.15am at various locations – contact 01325-254370 for details and to book.
CHAMPIONS: A team from St Aidan's Academy has won the Darlington 2013 Girls Inter-Cricket, held at Feethams.
Teams from six schools in Darlington took part in the festival with St Aidan's Academy lifting the trophy for the second year running.
Carmel College's A team came second and Hurworth School took bronze.
St Aidan’s will now go through to represent Darlington in the County Durham final on June 28.
SEEDS: Bellburn Allotments Association in Darlington is holding a plant sale and seed swap on June 1 at from 10am to noon.

COMEDY: The Bondgate Players are back with their latest production, A Toe in the Water.
The comedy by Derek Benfield charts the misunderstandings and mix-ups that occur on a supposedly peaceful spa break.
It runs at St Cuthbert’s Church Centre from May 30 to June 1 at 7.30pm.
