A MAN who admitted causing more than £1,000 worth of damage to a pizza shop, but denied it was racially aggravated, is facing a trial.

Daniel Mills, of Fenby Avenue, Darlington, admitted he caused £1,050 worth of damage to Veno’s Pizza shop, in Darlington, when he appeared at the town's magistrates' court today (Thursday, May 16), but denied it was racially aggravated criminal damage.

The 23-year-old will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 4 for a trial.

FUN DAY: A fun day is being held at Hurworth Primary School this Saturday.

All are welcome to the event which runs from noon to 3pm and will feature a host of stalls and attractions including a bouncy castle and games.

Admission is £2 for adults, children free, and all proceeds will go to Hurworth Methodist Church and Christian Aid.
