A GROUP of Rotarians are to tackle a 200 mile cycle ride in aid of local charities.
Fourteen members of the Darlington Rotary Club will cycle between Edinburgh and Newcastle on the Coast and Castles route, joined by a support team of three.
The team hope to ride 50 miles each day, making stops at Innerleithen, Berwick, Alnmouth and Newcastle.
Nigel Little, one of the Rotarians taking part in the challenge, said: “I’ve done this ride before and last year a team of four from the Rotary Club took part in a cycle trip to Darlington’s twin town of Mulheim.
“This year we were able to encourage a few more to join us and ride for charity.”
The group has received pledges of more than £5,000 from supporters and hope to raise more.
