A DRUG user with an addiction spanning two decades has appeared in court for possessing amphetamine.
Mark Dunn, of Spring Hill, Darlington, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug when he appeared before the town’s magistrates today (Tuesday, May 14).
The court heard that 41-year-old Dunn was stopped and searched by officers on April 26 who found three plastic bags containing the amphetamine powder, worth £60 in total, stashed in his rucksack.
Magistrates were told that Dunn had been a drug user for 20-years but was now on a methadone programme and was voluntarily seeking help for his addiction.
He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 in court charges.
