RESIDENTS are invited to take part in a walk to find ways to encourage more people to get active.
The walk is around the Mowden area of Darlington and is organised by Groundwork North-East and Local Motion, who are looking for ways to get residents to walk more often.
A Groundwork Architect will lead the walk, which is expected to take about an hour and a half, and will give participants the chance to identify ways to make the area more walk-friendly.
Councillor Andy Scott, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for health, said: “We all need to take responsibility for our own health and find some form of exercise that fits into our lifestyles.
“Encouraging families to walk more offers an ideal opportunity to take in some of their daily 60 active minutes; to set them on the path to a healthier lifestyle."
Residents wishing to take part are asked to meet at Mowden shops, on Fulthorpe Avenue, Darlington, at 1pm, tomorrow (Wednesday, May 15).
People can also share their views by completing a questionnaire at surveymonkey.com/s/ThinkitChangeitDoit or by calling 01325-353791.
