A CATTERY that takes in abandoned cats and dogs has been forced to take in rabbits after they were rescued from the street.
Sadberge Boarding Kennels and Cattery is not a rehoming centre, but takes in a number of animals in need of a home because local rescue charities do not have the resources to take them.
Staff at the centre recently took in four rabbits found abandoned as strays and, despite finding homes for two of them, are still looking for a loving home for bunnies Kay and Mango.
The centre also has a number of cats in need of a home, including a cat found wandering in nearby Middleton St George with no collar or microchip.
Sophie Moran, from the cattery, said: “We have lots of cats in need of a home and it’s also coming up to the time of year when we will get pregnant cats and kittens too.
“Taking in the rabbits was a new thing and we have two left in need of a home.”
Anyone interested in taking in a cat, or Kay and Mango, can contact the centre on 01325-332433.
