MORE than 100 dogs in Darlington benefited from the PDSA’s free pet check scheme.
The charity brought its mobile clinic to the town last week as part of its nationwide scheme to improve the well-being of the country’s canines.
Dogs were given the once-over by a trained PDSA vet nurse and micro-chipping and nail clipping was available for a reduced price.
PDSA vet nurse, Jen Clarke, said: “We were delighted to meet so many local pets and their owners when our PetCheck vehicle came to Darlington last week.
“We were visited by 150 dogs of all shapes and sizes, ranging from trim terriers to hefty hounds.
“We checked the body shape, dental health and general fitness of all our canine visitors! If you missed us you can get plenty of free pet health information from PDSA’s website: www.pdsa.org.uk.”
