ORGANISERS of Darlington’s Covered Market’s 150th anniversary celebrations are looking for memories to feature in the celebrations.
The Victorian-themed anniversary celebrations will take place at the market and the adjoining market square on the weekend of June 7 and 8.
As part of the celebrations, organisers will be creating a time capsule of memories that will be hung from the ceiling of the market, and not be opened again until 2063.
Markets officer, Emma Waring, said: “We are looking for anybody with memories, photos, or stories of the market, whether they are customers or stallholders, to get in touch and be featured in the time capsule.
“It is a chance for people to be a part of history.”
