A COLONY of bees is expected to add an extra buzz to the Darlington Green Fair on Sunday.
The annual event, which promotes eco-friendly living, takes place at South Park from 11am to 4pm with a range of attractions.
The Darlington Bee Keepers Association (DBKA) is hoping to display a bee colony at the event and members will be on hand to talk to about honey bee related issues.
DBKA chairman, Len Mutton said: “Campaigns like Bee Cause have helped raise awareness of the challenges our honey bees face right now.
“Even if you have a plant pot with a few plants that bees love for their nectar, this one small step can make a real difference to the wellbeing of the local honey bee population.”
Other attractions at the fair will include a history walk around South Park, live music at the bandstand, a birds of prey display, farm yard animals and displays by the North East Kite Flyers.
