AN exercise programme for stroke patients is being run by Darlington Borough Council.
The exercise after stroke rehabilitation sessions are taken by specially qualified instructors and are tailored to the needs of those taking part.
Access to the programme can be made by referral from any medical professional such as a GP or physiotherapist.
Hourly sessions run on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 2pm and 3pm at Eastbourne Sports Complex and cost £2.
An hour-long session is also held at the Dolphin Centre on Mondays between 1pm and 2pm.
The programme is being delivered by the council’s sports development team. People can sign up by contacting its co-ordinator Michael Hodgson on 01325 254370 or e-mail michael.hodgson@darlington.gov.uk.
