YOUNG actors have celebrated their award winning success at Darlington Drama Festival.

Six pupils of Applause Theatre School picked up awards for acting, singing and poetry at the event held at Hummersknot Academy on March 9.

Siblings Hannah, 11, and Thomas Hunt, six, brought home awards for solo drama and poetry.

Grace Robinson, 15, won two awards for musical singing and solo acting.

Lewis Collins, 11, Samuel Hughes, ten, and Tilly Raper, ten, were also successful at the festival for their dramatic and musical performances.

Sam Bradshaw, teacher at the school based at Hurworth Grange, was delighted with her pupils’ efforts.

Ms Bradshaw said: “For a small school, there is a lot of talent and everyone worked very hard for the event.

“It was great to see their faces when they won. I’m very proud of them all.”
