POLICE in Darlington have seen a number of incidents of criminal damage involving marbles. Officers believe the marbles are used with catapults to cause damage to windows and property. A spokesman said: “Can we please remind members of the public what a dangerous activity this is, and that the potential consequences are significant.” Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency 101 number.

FLUTE RECOVERED: A man has been arrested and charged with handling stolen goods after an £800 flute was stolen from shop in Darlington. The item was recovered through the police Stop scheme, which stands for Stop thieves offloading property when another shop in the town reported it had been sold to them.

HIP HOP: A Northern Hip Hop night will be held at The Forum, in Borough Road, Darlington, on Friday (March 29), at 7.30pm. Entry is £7, payable at the door.

JAZZ NIGHT: Live music from the Society Jazz Band will take place at the Hurworth Grange Community Centre, in Hurworth, on Friday, March 29, at 8.30pm. Entry is £2.50 per person.
