DARLINGTON children delivered an Easter treat at a special church service today (Tuesday, March 26).
More than 70 pupils from the town’s Abbey Junior School gathered at St Cuthbert’s Church to perform a selection of popular Easter songs for the community.
The children entertained school staff, friends and families with renditions of classic Easter-themed songs, including Lord of the Dance and There Is a Green Hill Far Away.
Reverend Robert Williams led a short prayer at the event. He said he had been delighted when the school asked if the church would host the performance.
He said: “This is the first time this has happened and it is lovely, it joins people together. We want to do it again and would be happy if any other schools wanted to do something similar in the future.”
Schools interested in performing at the church can contact Rev Williams on 01325-358911.
