AMATEUR actors enjoyed their first taste of fame as they performed their production of Les Miserables to sell-out crowds.
After a term of rehearsals, students Hummersknott Academy, in Darlington, took to the stage to perform their take on the world-famous musical for three sold-out nights last week.
A spokeswoman for the school said: “The production was an ambitious choice which has been realised by the hard work of the students taking part and the cooperation of various departments within and support from outside the academy.
"The cast has been drawn from across the school and great friendships have been forged they are all now looking forward to the next production."
