A MAN appeared in court charged with a string of historic sexual offences today (Tuesday March 26).
Michael John Evers, 59, from Middlesex, is accused of indecently assaulting a teenager in Darlington during the 1980s.
Mr Evers, who did not enter a plea, faces four counts of indecent assault on a girl under 16. The assaults are alleged to have taken place between 1985 and 1987.
He will appear before Darlington Magistrate’s Court again on Thursday May 23 when the case will be committed to Crown Court. He has been granted unconditional bail until then.
