PEOPLE in Darlington will have more of a say in their health and social care with the launch of a new social enterprise.
Healthwatch Darlington has been set up to help the community influence and improve their local services.
It is part of the Healthwatch England initiative, which aims to influence national policy through local care experiences.
It will have a seat on Darlington’s Health and Wellbeing Board where representatives will have an opportunity to directly influence local and national policies.
Healthwatch Darlington, delivered by the Carers Federation, will work as a professional voluntary body and is now recruiting for the positions of Chair and Board members. The roles are unpaid but expenses will be considered.
For further information about the organisation, which will launch on Monday April 1, call Diane or Andrea on 01325 380145, visit darlingtonlink.co.uk or, after Monday April 1, healthwatchdarlington.co.uk.
