RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on proposed plans for the site of a former Darlington school.

The former Eastbourne School site is set to be transformed into a mixture of affordable, shared and private housing.

Darlington Borough Council is working with Esh Developments, Coast and Country, and Endeavour Housing Associations on the project, and residents are invited to share their views on the proposals.

Plans will be on show at Eastbourne Sports Complex tomorrow (Monday, March 25) from 3pm to 7.30pm and representatives from the council and property developers will be on hand to discuss the plans.

Anybody who cannot make the event can view the plans at darlington.gov.uk/eastbournesite or at the town hall reception.

Information boards will also be on show at the sports complex until Wednesday, March 27.

Feedback can be sent by emailing Eastbourne.School@darlington.gov.uk or by calling 01325-243177.

Chris McEwan, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “The interest and related potential investment in the former Eastbourne School site shows the confidence in our borough.

“It is hugely important that as many residents as possible have a look at the draft plans and provide their feedback to make sure as plans develop, they reflect what the local community wants to see for the future.”

A further consultation meeting will be held in the next few weeks – residents will be sent letters with any further details.
