A SERIAL fraudster who used a spurious website to falsely claim links with multi-million pound companies, local authorities and charities has taken the site offline.

The website - b1infinity.co.uk – was set up by conman Mike Kenny, pictured, formerly of Darlington. The Northern Echo: ENTER THE DRAGON: Mike Kenny, main picture, who was convicted for fraud, is facing legal action brought by Dragon’s Den star Peter Jones

It claimed the company had links with companies including Tesco, budget airline Jet2 and Tata Steel, which employs 1,500 people in Redcar.

The site’s homepage has been replaced with a message saying it is ‘temporarily out of service’.

Others falsely linked to Kenny’s company included Durham County Council, Teesside University and Sunderland City Council.

On Monday (October 29), The Northern Echo reported that Kenny had forged documents in an effort to convince a court he was suffering from cancer.

Tesco said it planned to write to the B1 Infinity asking it to remove all references to the supermarket giant on its website.

Now it seems that whoever was responsible for the B1 Infinity site has taken Tesco’s request to the ultimate degree and cut their losses.
