THE following cases were heard today (October 30) at Darlington Magistrates' Court:
SPEEDING FINE: Stephen Graham, 28, of Pendower Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty to speeding after being caught doing 42mph in a 30mph zone on Coniscliffe Road, Darlington, on April 16. He was fined £235 and given four penalty points.
EXCESS ALCOHOL: Lynn McGurn, 56, of Drinkfield Crescent, Darlington, admitted driving while over the legal alcohol limit. She was found to have 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath on North Road, Darlington, on October 18. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. She was disqualified for 17 months, fined £110, and referred to a drink driving rehabilitation course.
DISQUALIFIED DRIVER: Laurence Grieves, 32, of Kingsbury Mews, Darlington, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and having no third party insurance. Grieves was stopped by police in his BMW 5 Series vehicle on the A66 on October 5. He was given a 12 month community order and 100 hours unpaid work.
