INDEPENDENT retailers have been invited to a workshop giving hints and tips on how to attract customers with the art of window dressing.

The free workshop, run by window dressing expert Isobelle Hodgson, will take place on Wednesday, October 31, between 10am and 4pm.

The aim of the workshop is to help small businesses with the presentation of their shop frontage display using recycled materials on a small budget.

Councillor Chris McEwan, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for economy and regeneration, said: “First impressions count and an eye-catching window display is an essential business tool for any retail business.

“It is a competitive market out there and anything that gives a business the edge over their competitors will help them succeed. I urge local businesses to get involved and learn from the professionals.”

Numbers at the workshop will be limited due to its practical, hands on nature.

Places must be booked in advance by calling Suzanne Clark on 01325-388686 or email suzanne.clark@darlington.gov.uk
