POLICE are Darlington are seeking witnesses to two incidents involving parked vehicles.

At about 1.30am on Wednesday (October 24), the occupant of a house in Tees Drive was woken by a van parked outside her address with the engine running.

A spokeswoman for Darlington police said: “She saw a man crouching down at the back of an Iceland transit van parked in the street.

“She shouted at the man who ran to the passenger side of a waiting unmarked white van which sped off onto Hammond Drive.

“The Iceland van has been found to have two pieces of plastic trim stolen from the rear doors.”

The second incident happened overnight on Wednesday into Thursday (October 25).

A Renault Scenic parked in Greenmount Road was broken into and a Garmin Nuvi sat nav stolen.

Police want to speak to any witnesses, particularly local taxi drivers or people delivering milk, who may have been in the area in the early hours.

Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to ring police on 101 and ask for PC Gary McLean at Darlington.
