DARLINGTON residents have the opportunity to learn something new when adult learning courses get under way next month.

Blogging for beginners, digital imaging, family history, crafts and watercolours and amateur dramatics are among the courses on offer in venues across Darlington.

The courses are organised by Darlington Borough Council’s learning and skills service. Councillor Andy Scott, the council’s cabinet member for health and partnerships, said: “Adult learning has being recognised as being a benefit to our health and well being.

“This is something we all have to take responsibility for. By challenging ourselves to learn something new, while at the same time acquiring new skills and meeting new people, we can achieve a boost in self confidence.

“Take a look at what’s on offer and sign up for a course that interests you. Go on and take that first step.”
