A PANTO dame will be making an appearance in a Darlington leisure centre next week, as it prepares to mark its 30th anniversary.

Philip Meeks, who is due to star in the forthcoming pantomime production, Sleeping Beauty, will be calling in to the Dolphin Centre on Monday (October 29).

In full dame costume, he will entertain children using the soft play area at the centre.

The centre reaches the milestone on Friday, November 2.

Mr Meeks is playing the dame in the pantomime at Darlington Civic Theatre, which runs from December 8 to January 30.

He will be at the Dolphin Centre from 11.45am to 12.15pm on Monday.

A seasoned panto dame, Mr Meeks last year played Nurse Hattie in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, at Middlesbrough Theatre.
