A WEBSITE set up in an attempt to find missing chef Claudia Lawrence has received more than 10,000 hits since it was set up on Tuesday.
The disappearance of the 35-year-old, from York, is being treated as suspected murder.
She was last seen near her home on March 18, and failed to arrive for work at York University the following day.
On the website, her father, solicitor Peter Lawrence, wrote of the “nightmare” of her disappearance.
The website has received more than 200 messages of support for the family.
Mr Lawrence’s friend and spokesman Martin Dales said: “Peter and the family are very grateful for the care, support and feelings for them that are expressed through the guestbook and on social networking sites.
“They sense that the public has as much desire as the family to see Claudia return to her family and friends as soon as possible.”
The site is at findclaudia.
co.uk Crimestoppers has offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to a conviction over Miss Lawrence’s disappearance.
