A man has been arrested for attempting to break into a North East address and is suspected to have been in possession of a bladed article.
Northumbria Police have confirmed a man, 22, was arrested on suspicion of affray after attempting to break into an address on Monkseaton Terrace in Ashington shortly after 8pm on Tuesday (May 16).
Police confirmed they received a report of a man was acting aggressively at the scene.

Officers attended after receiving information the man was attempting to break into the address and was suspected to be in possession of a bladed article.
Police also said the man was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs, was in possession of ammonia, and was making threats towards the occupant.
He remains in police custody as enquires continue.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Officers were immediately deployed to the Northumberland address in response to further intelligence that the 22-year-old man was attempting to break into the address and suspected to be in possession of a bladed article.

"The man was also believed to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and was making threats towards the occupant. Reports also suggested the man was in possession of a substance suspected to be ammonia.
"Within minutes, officers from Northern’s Response Policing Team (RPT) had the man in handcuffs, arresting him on suspicion of affray.
