A MAN arrested on suspicion of murdering Claudia Lawrence has today (Thursday, June 12) been re-bailed while further police enquiries are made.

The 59-year-old suspect was arrested on May 13 last month on suspicion of murdering the York chef.

North Yorkshire Police officers searched the York home of the man for a number of days last month following his arrest and another home in North Shields, Tyneside.

He was held in custody for more than a day before being released on bail.

Ms Lawrence was reported missing from her home in Heworth, York in 2009.

A police spokesman said there is a possibility further arrests will be made.
